Enchanted by natural materials, from an upper world of mountains and a golden world of deserts, where their remoteness protected their purity. Our carpets are theatres for recreation. The rugs we walk on are not made only of wool, cotton or silk… But also dreams.
Industrial furniture tends to be less durable, less sustainable and aesthetically unanimous. The constant growth of the cities insulated us away from nature, thus from its strength. But Yzeel went on a search of the sublime in various places… Our makers are championing freedom of the mind and imagination. They challenge our arrogance, restore our wonder, and more than ever we need their craftmanship.
Preserving an art of the making that dates back more than 4,000 years. Our makers are not executing Yzeel design to the letter. As long as the care is given in framing the main Yzeel design, we make sure to give them a space in which their imagination can breathe. They have a quality of attention that is embodied in their dexterity. Thus, our rugs unfold from what can be abridged as care, sensibility and meticulousness in practice: a total investment of the self. A process of production intrinsically satisfying in itself.

Our quality
The assessment of rug quality differs greatly depending on the audience. Permanence and transparency are both values of Yzeel’s process wherein the quality and degree of investment in the making appears in the aesthetics and the resulting robustness of the product.
Ancient rugs are highly demanded, most of the dealers are using cunning methods to make the old out of the new. The rugs are aged through bleaching, over washing, long sun exposure and burning… Yzeel does not perform any of these unnatural or accelerated ageing methods. All our antiques are provided by families who used them for several years. Thus every antique Yzeel rug comes with a story. A story tracing the lifecycle of the rug and most importantly of those who made it and lived with it. Since it is traditionally crafted, to last a forever, as a no programmed obsolescence was known at the time those rugs are embodying memories from a generation to another.
Using old techniques, respecting and caring for the materials and the designs, Yzeel is now making the new out of the old; Rugs with an eternal lifespan that could only be described as an eternal dream.
